This weeks class Layout in Mississauga

On Thursday May 10th we will be creating the layout I did last weekend with the great gals in Kingsville at The Papercraft Cafe. You can see the layout in the post below. Time Slips Away, NSD Layout. This layout will take at least 3+ hours to complete because there are lots of fussy but not difficult elements. There are only a few spots left so if you would like to join us, please email me ASAP for location details. Cost for this class is $30. Basic tools required.

Just in passing...

I don't know if there is a totally original idea or not. I know I spend a fair amount of time checking out magazines and galleries and other peoples artwork. Somehow it rolls around in my brain, often keeping me awake at night until I know just what I want to create and then I create it. I get inspired but then I do my own thing. Hopefully, that is what we all do. Please take whatever inspiration you like but if you scraplift, please give credit to the artist you take it from. If you want to know how I did something, ask. Glad to share.

Piece/Peace Movement

*** This is a May posting but I don't want it to get lost in the back pages so I am reposting it here. ***

I want to start a Piece/Peace Movement. Wait, don't go running down to the basement to see if you still have that pair of bell bottom pants or that string of beads you (or your parents) wore back in the 60's unless of course you are going to use it as artist material. I don't want to stage "Love Ins" unless scrapbooking or crafting is involved. No artificial mood enhancers required. What I do want to do is share a little piece/peace with others through a piece of art that I and hopefully you create. Here is what I have in mind. Create a piece of art. It could be a scrapbook page, a card, an altered object that you have put a little piece/peace of yourself into. Think about what Peace means to you and how you achieve it in your life. Create a piece of art. Not a paper artist? Doesn't matter. Use whatever medium you want and then post it so others can share your peace/piece. The idea is to spread peace around. Do something that makes you feel good and share it with others. The key here is to share your peace/piece with as many people as possible.You never know, maybe this whole Peace thing will catch on.
